Reliable programming languages are a web developer’s best friend. It provides them with the comfort of creating what they visualize. However, there are some which take precedence with the developers more than others. In this blog, we cover some of the most popular languages that will be a sensation amongst web development services.

Popular Programming Languages for Web Development Services

Firstly, please note that this list is in no particular order. Moreover, it is non-exhaustive and personal opinion. So feel free to consider other languages as per your preference.

Javascript

The massively famous language, virtually the language of the internet. Javascript was originally used only to develop web browsers, however, it is much more now. The main skills for this include HTML and CSS.

The major benefits of Javascript are that it is easy to learn and implement. Also, it can be used anywhere over the internet. Moreover, it reduces demand on the website server.

Python

Python is quite popular because it is comparatively easy to learn. It is readable, furthermore, it boasts of being a free, open-source programming language. To add to its credentials, it has support modules and community development. It also boasts of being easy to integrate with web services, user-friendly data structures, and GUI-based desktop applications.

Java

The legendary programming language pretty obviously finds a place in this list. However, it is not just old but quite reliable too. There is a reason that it has stood the test of time. Java has become synonymous to applications, regardless of platform.

The language can be used for Mac, Windows, Android, iOS, or any other. Credit for this capability goes to the Write Once, Run Anywhere (WORA) capabilities.

However, there are a few downsides to being so versatile. Firstly, Java is an intermediate-level language and has a steep learning curve. There is a lot of new vocabulary for programmers to catch up to.

Kotlin

This one is fairly new in the market. However, it made a masterstroke by making it interoperable with Java. This is, however, an intermediate to advanced language and needs prior knowledge of Java.

Kotlin mainly finds its use in Android apps, web applications, desktop applications, and server-side application development. The list clearly shows that it has definitely earmarked the right categories. The major downside of Kotlin is that it has to fluctuate compilation speed.

PHP

Another programming language that has a rich legacy. PHP is a pretty common requirement with any web development company. This is because many websites existing on the web are created using it, including Yahoo and FB.

PHP finds its use in writing server-side scripts. However, it can also be used for command-line scripts, and even to develop desktop applications.

Some of the downsides of this veteran include poor error handling and low security.

Honorary Mention - C and C++

These two are the base of programming languages. Though not so popular amongst modern-day developers, C and C++ have significance. Moreover, they are still relied upon while developing applications where performance is a critical issue.

To conclude, programming languages develop just like developers. However, some of them remain significant for a long time due to their features. However, what is more useful to a web development company provider depends on which business they cater to. So choose the language to learn in sync with the industry you target.
